The Global Compact Network Egypt (GCNE) in close partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) will hold a Regional Roundtable for Sustainable Finance in Africa and Middle East during the period 10 – 11 April 2019 at the Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.
The event will consist of two days of insights into advances in sustainable finance, the event aims to provide insights into key developments such as the benefits of sustainable finance integration in national economies in Africa and Middle East, uptake and implementation of the Principles for Responsible Banking, positive impact measurement and growth, delivering resilient infrastructure with insurers and investors, climate-related disclosures, natural capital stress-testing as well as social impact and financial inclusion. As a major step to help build the case for sustainable finance in the region, the event will bring together a number of 300 finance sector leaders including UNEP FI members and sustainable finance practitioners for two days of insights into advances in sustainable finance. The Principles of Sustainable Insurance will also be hosting a Market Event as part of the Regional Roundtable.
